About Green Operations

Owner-operated since day one. Over 20 years of hardscaping and landscaping experience across the greater St. Louis area.

Built on Hard Work and Doing Things Right

My name is Travis and I'm the owner of Green Operations, based right here in St. Louis. I've been in the snow removal, landscaping and hardscaping world for over 20 years, and I've built this business with a simple goal -- to deliver great work and treat people right.

I'm hands-on with every job because I care about the outcome, and I want my customers to know they can count on me to show up, do the work right, and stand behind it. You are never going to get handed off to a random crew that does not know your project. When you hire Green Operations, you get me on-site, making sure every cut is precise, every base is properly compacted, and every detail is exactly the way it should be.

We keep our pricing fair, we don't cut corners, and we work with people who value quality. That is how I have always done business, and it is how I will continue to do business. I started this company because I knew I could deliver a better experience than what most homeowners were getting from the big outfits. Twenty years later, that is still what drives me every single day.

Green Operations is more than a business to me -- it's about building lasting relationships, doing solid work, and being proud of what we leave behind.

Our Values

The principles that guide every project, every estimate, and every handshake.

Fair Pricing

We give you a straight, honest price for quality work. No bait-and-switch, no hidden fees, no inflated estimates. You know exactly what you are paying for before we start.

No Corner Cutting

We do every step the right way, from a properly compacted base to polymeric sand joints. Shortcuts save time but cost homeowners thousands down the road. That is not how we operate.

Premium Materials

As an Authorized Unilock Contractor, we use the best paver products on the market. Premium materials combined with certified installation techniques mean your project lasts decades, not years.

Community First

Giving back is a big part of who we are. From building a veterans memorial to supporting local causes across St. Louis, we use our skills and equipment to serve the community beyond just business.

Awards & Certifications

Our work speaks for itself, but it is nice when the industry recognizes it too. Green Operations is proud to hold the following credentials and awards that demonstrate our commitment to the highest standards of hardscaping craftsmanship in St. Louis.

Authorized Unilock Contractor

Unilock is one of the most respected names in the paver industry, and earning Authorized Contractor status is not easy. It requires rigorous training, demonstrated installation expertise, and an ongoing commitment to meeting Unilock's strict quality standards. For our customers, this means access to the full Unilock product line, including exclusive styles and colors, along with extended manufacturer warranties that non-authorized installers cannot offer.

Best Driveway Award 2025

Our dedication to precision paver work earned us the 2025 Best Driveway Award. This award recognized the quality of materials, the intricacy of the pattern work, and the flawless execution from base preparation through final sealing. Every project we take on gets the same level of attention and craftsmanship that earned this recognition.

Featured by County Materials

Our "Shoreline Harmony" project in Cottleville, Missouri was selected by County Materials as a featured project on their website. The project transformed a sloped lakeside backyard into a functional outdoor living space using Smooth Tribute wall systems, Grand XL Discover pavers, and Elements pavers — combining a curved retaining wall, paver patio with inlay pattern, and lakeside staircase that all complement the home's exterior. Being recognized by a major block manufacturer is a testament to the quality of our installation work.

Community Involvement

Green Operations has always been about more than just building patios and retaining walls. Giving back to the community is a big part of what matters to me, and it is something I have made a core part of this business since the beginning.

One of the projects I am most proud of is a veterans memorial we designed and built right here in the St. Louis area. We donated our time, materials, and expertise to create a stone retaining wall display with custom metal silhouettes of service members, backlit with red, white, and blue landscape lighting. The inscription reads "Honor the Fallen, Thank the Living." Putting our hardscaping skills to work for something bigger than a backyard is what this is all about.

When you hire Green Operations, you are supporting a local business that reinvests in the community. We believe that doing well and doing good are not mutually exclusive -- they go hand in hand.

Our Equipment

Quality work starts with quality tools. At Green Operations, we invest in professional-grade equipment that allows us to deliver precision results on every project. From diamond blade saws that produce clean, exact cuts to commercial compactors that ensure a solid base, our equipment is maintained and ready to perform.

Having the right tools is not a luxury -- it is a requirement for doing the job properly. A cheap saw leaves rough edges. A weak compactor leaves an unstable base. We do not cut those kinds of corners, and our equipment investment reflects that commitment.

We also maintain a fleet of branded trucks and trailers that allow us to efficiently transport materials and equipment to job sites across the St. Louis metro area, from Jefferson County to St. Charles County and everywhere in between.

Our Approach to Hardscaping in St. Louis

After two decades of building patios, retaining walls, and outdoor living spaces across the greater St. Louis area, we have refined an approach that prioritizes doing things right the first time. Every hardscaping project we take on follows a process that starts well before the first paver is laid and continues through final cleanup and walkthrough.

The first step is always a thorough site assessment. Travis visits your property in person to evaluate the grade, drainage patterns, soil conditions, and existing structures. St. Louis sits on some of the most variable terrain in the Midwest -- from the flat river bottoms in South County to the rolling hills of Jefferson County and the clay-heavy soil that runs throughout the metro. Each of these conditions affects how we design and build your project, from the depth of the aggregate base to the type of geogrid reinforcement we use in retaining walls.

Material selection is another area where experience matters. As an Authorized Unilock Contractor, we have access to the full line of Unilock paver products, including exclusive colors and textures that non-authorized installers cannot source. But choosing the right product is about more than aesthetics. We match the paver thickness, surface texture, and joint style to the specific application -- whether that is a high-traffic driveway, a pool deck that needs slip resistance, or a patio with intricate pattern work. The wrong product in the wrong application leads to premature wear, shifting, or cracking.

Base preparation is where most contractors cut corners, and it is where the long-term durability of your project is determined. We excavate to a minimum of 8 inches for pedestrian applications and 12 inches or more for driveways and load-bearing surfaces. Every layer of aggregate is mechanically compacted in lifts using a plate compactor, and we verify compaction before moving to the next layer. This step takes time and costs more in labor, but it prevents the settling and unevenness that plague projects built on a rushed or shallow base.

Finally, we treat every project like it is going to be judged -- because it is. Your neighbors will see it, your family will use it daily, and it reflects on both your property and our reputation. That mindset is what separates a contractor who does this for a paycheck from one who does it because the work matters. Green Operations has always been in the second category, and that is not going to change.
